How to Become a Resident

It is so very easy to become a part of the Arbor Glen Community and our experienced residential planning team is always available to guide you through the process.

Step One: Make an Appointment to Visit Arbor Glen

The best way to know that you have really made the right choice in selecting Arbor Glen for your new home is to come for a visit.  Tour the buildings and our beautifully landscaped grounds. Join us for a program or just chat with new friends over lunch. You will experience firsthand all the activity, warmth and friendship that fills our community.

Step Two: Select the Best Location for You
Arbor Glen has a wide variety of one and two bedroom apartments and villas. Our living areas are spacious with contemporary kitchens and bathrooms, beautiful flooring, large closets, washer and dryers and individual controls for your heating and air conditioning.

Step Three: Select a Membership Type and Monthly Fees
Arbor Glen is a membership community.  There are two types of membership fees a 90% Refund or a Fully Declining Refund Plan.

Monthly Service Fee: Each resident pays a service fee, due monthly, that funds daily operations at Arbor Glen   In comparing the costs of living at home with a monthly fee at Arbor Glen, most  future residents find little difference.  The fee is usually covered by Social Security, pension and investment interest.

The following services are included in your monthly fee.

  • Weekly Linens
  • Garbage Removal
  • Recycling
  • Snow Removal
  • Lawn Maintenance
  • Home Repairs
  • One Meal Each Day
  • Scheduled Transportation
  • 24-Hour Security
  • Fire Sprinkler Service
 
  • Planned Programs/Entertainment
  • Utilities, Heat, Air Conditioning
  • Electricity
  • Water/Sewer Charge
  • Real Estate Tax
  • Cable Outlets
  • Extended Cable Service
  • Annual Heavy Housekeeping (windows/carpet cleaning)
  • Amac Pendant (24 hour emergency alert system)

Step Four: Application for Residency

  • A $500 deposit and Bank Form is due with the application fee
  • Your Financial Statement is due within one week of application
  • A 10% deposit required to hold desired apartment or villa
  • Personal Health History/Medical Release Form is due within one week of application
  • You will be asked to attend a pre-arranged Medical Review appointment
  • It is important to share our Disclosure Statement with your Financial Advisor and/or Attorney
  • If applicable this is the time to put your house on the market

Step Five:  Once You are Accepted

  • You will sign a Residence and Care Agreement
  • You will provide Arbor Glen with a commitment to your responsibility date. Once your move-in date is confirmed you will have a final walk-through of your apartment and a closing will be scheduled where the balance of your entrance fee will be paid
  • You will be issued your apartment key and meal passes

Step Six: Move in and Enjoy the Good Life!
Your move-in coordinator is part of our Residential Planning Office. Our staff will be available to help make this transition to your new home an enjoyable experience.  They are here to help you with questions regarding right-sizing, packing, moving and setting up things in your new home.
